Who would have thought it possible living our dream giving back in Africa!
Our luxury accommodations and transportation consist of an old 2001 Land Rover totally Kitted for African Travel and living, everything needed to get deep into the bush and enjoy the ride.
The cool thing is Margrit and I have searched long and hard for the business or something we could enjoy full-time together, joined at the hip, yoked in a good cause… Well retiring to work Nikela our wildlife nonprofit is it; 6 months here traveling, meeting with conservationists, and chilling in the African beauty AND 6 months in the states touring in our rig, visiting the Kids and staying close to our contacts and projects in Africa… it can’t get better than this, can it?
Margrit really really deserves this. She has fallen in love with her native country again and is doing such a grand job for African wildlife and those struggling so hard to protect it. In the circle of conservationists here she enjoys connecting with people, helping with funding, getting the word out, and cheering their efforts.
Last time we were here for 3 months and the smile never left her face. So the last 5 months were spent getting our ducks in a row to create this new arrangement. It is soooo exciting to see her so happy and involved.
I am a pretty lucky guy to be married to such a giving, caring woman.
ENJOY THE DAY AND DO GOOD

Hi Russ & Margritm- Greetings from Joburg! You are living MY dream as well! You’re in my bucket-list vehicle (as you know from when you set off here five months ago) travelling where the mood and sights of Africa take you, meeting up with like-minded people, seeing our stunning country and neighbours the way they SHOULD be seen – at leisure, with open hearts and minds, in no hurry, and most importantly: together with your Soul Mate. Bliss. Enjoy your last month (for now) for us all. Hakuna matata!
