Nikela’s future for saving wildlife is looking brighter with a Google Ad Grant and Community Boost. But… underwater monkeys?
Remember those half-awake dreams at three in the morning where you are churning to save the world or yourself from imminent doom? Each new solution becomes more hopeless.
Well, last night’s Boerewors (South African sausage) spoke to me in the dark with an earth shattering dilemma booming out of the haze.
“You must release a troop of rehabilitated monkeys underwater because that’s what they really want? Find the solution.”
With Alice in Wonderland imagery, possibilities started to march forth. Tiny scuba gear… But how do they recharge their tanks? Living in air pockets bubbling up from the lake bottom… But keeping them from bursting proved impossible. Something to do with claws.
And the churning went on and on.
As always happens the haze started to clear, reality brought relief and an obvious solution appeared.
“What they want isn’t always what’s best for them.”
As I pondered the dream’s meaning I found clarity in Nikela’s present situation.
What we wanted?
Our ‘dream’ was to build Nikela with little investment other than time, passion and finding our way within our personal monthly budget including Africa travel.
Margrit’s influence became exemplary on Nikela’s web site, social media and on the ground in Africa finding people saving Wildlife.
We wanted to change the hearts of the world.
In our haze, the growth in Helping People Saving Wildlife has been frustratingly slow against our bigger desires. What we found was the internet’s elicit, “Just build it and they will come” is for… dreamers.
The haze has cleared and what a relief.
A Google Ad Grant, an amazing Social Marketing Entrepreneur ‘Community Boost’, a recent small inheritance and the generosity of a good friend Mike Shreeve have made it possible for my sweet wife’s hard work and dedication to be broadcast to the world.
Now Nikela can help in bigger ways.
The Clear Path
Isn’t it exciting! A major avenue to bring in others to enjoy the adventure, meet terrific Wildlife People, and donate directly to save one critter at a time? To build a large enough online community to make a difference for more emerging high potential but small Wildlife projects.
Ironically, one of this year’s projects is to fund the release of a REAL REHABILITATED MONKEY TROOP… BUT NOT UNDER WATER!
Thanks Gracie for the video and all of you who Margrit found the hard way. Your dedication has been our light.
Enjoy the day and do good!
