Moses loves wildlife.
Like many of our heroes it happened by ‘accident’. As a child he watched gorillas in the mountains near his granny’s village.
Today he is committed to rescuing the planet’s most endangered mammal, the pangolin from the gruesome wildlife trafficking market.
Almost single-handedly he snatches one pangolin at a time from being sold off to Asia. In the last few months he has been on nineteen rescue missions. Seventeen ended successfully with the pangolin being released back into the wild.
It was in early 2017 that we met up with Moses in his village outside of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. We met on Facebook several years before. We followed his unique approach to stop wildlife poaching by reforming poachers. Somehow he convinces them to turn in their spears for a shovel and take up farming.
