Meatless Monday, recipe, PB’nJ sandwich, save wildlife, take a PB’nJ to lunch
What better recipe to share than a PB’nJ one. Now you might ask, “Who needs a recipe to make a PB’nJ?” Well, there are open faced and closed face and then their are FACES PB’nJs!
My kids, and now their kids, love it when I make them a FACES PB’nJ for lunch.
You can make this an open or closed sandwich (one or two pieces of bread.) For young kids the closed face is much less messy.
2 slices of bread (can be wheat or white)
2 Tbs of your favorite peanut butter
2 Tbs of your favorite jelly (can be grape, strawberry, apricot etc.)
1/4 of an apple cut in two
2 baby carrots
2 grapes (can use raisons or small marshmellows for a treat)
a couple of slivers of your choice of cheese
Apply the peanut butter to one slice of bread and the jelly to the other, fold together and decorate.
There you have it, a tasty PB’nJ with an extra shot of protein and some vegies and fruit thrown in. Great for the picky kid!
Take a PB’nJ to lunch donate what you save to protect wildlife.
