From the field, how your charitable donations are saving lions from being killed by angry farmers. Lights on bomas really do keep them away and alive. Recently with your help we sent $1,000 to help buy lights. Enough lights to outfit two bomas.

THE REPORT ABOUT PIYAYA
On 8/8/2018 I was at Piyaya Village in Loliondo District. I have tried to communicate with Village chairmen and good luck I met with them. We have seen that Piyaya is very remote places. People don’t know anything about lights, they’re also afraid of cars! They run away when they see any car going to their home worrying about police who are catching people who have not built toilets.
We taught them about lights; important of lights and our Project. We installed lights for four bomas for free so that they keep learning and teach each other to buy lights.
At Piyaya there’s big predators problem according to what they explained to us about night attack. They have leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and lions depending on herbivores season migration .
Piyaya ex consoler Joseph told me that previously worriers were killing lions for bravery but many were caught and jailed while the other paid fined big money. Elders and leaders punished them and they started hating the killing of lions!
Whoever seen that is trying to plan or hunting Wildlife, they catch and punish traditionally. Therefore the ex consoler confirmed that no more killing in the area.
To our pleasant surprise, lights are not only saving lions, but other predators too.
