Since 2017 Nikela (with your help) is sponsoring Felix, a ranger scout. Felix belongs to a team of ranger scouts who protect elephants in the Thuma Forest in Malawi.
He is part of an ever growing team of anti-poaching rangers working with Lynn one of our amazing Wildlife Heroes.

Dear Margrit and Russ
The main aim of this letter is to say thank you for all your support and to tell you more about my job by Wildlife Action Group.
Am still loving my job and and am really appreciating the support you are providing to me. With this support i managed to improve the living standards of my family and my self. i can buy enough food as well a house was built with iron sheet roofing this year. Also i am supporting my brother who is still in primary school.
More about the job. Im very happy to see the Elephant numbers increasing here in Thuma and Dedza-Salima forest reserve. We see now also Elephants in areas where we haven’t seen them before cause those parts have been taken over by charcoal burners. Over the past years we managed to arrest a lot of them and most of them stoped now coming in to burn charcoal. In 2017 we managed to arrest 3 gun poachers wich came in to hunt for animals.
This year we lost 1 Elephants in Dedza-Salima Forest Reserve. The 2 Poachers have been arrested and sentenced to 7 years hard labor plus the ivory of elephant was recovered and confiscated.
I promise to continue working hard with all my fellow scouts to give more protection to the Forest, the elephants and all other wildlife living here.
All the best and I am wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year
Yours
Felix Banda
