Do soldiers, veterans, rangers, and veterinarians in combat zones have similar experiences of Brotherhood?  Can soldiers be compared to rangers of today? If so might rangers have similar deeply bonding experiences? This TED talk given by Sebastian Junger may provide an interesting perspective as we continue on the journey of traumatized humans. Civilians don’t miss war. But soldiers often do. Journalist Sebastian Junger shares his experience embedded with American soldiers at Restrepo, an outpost in Afghanistan’s Korengal Valley that saw heavy combat. You’re not going crazy – despair, depression and rage do not have to become permanent residents of the soul. Unavoidable yet Heal-able There is no way an emotional caring human can be exposed to the horrors of wildlife poaching and not be deeply impacted. And it’s not only those on the ground coming upon the brutal scene, but those of us who’s psyches are jarred by the images and videos flashing across our computer screens. An update from our Wildlife Hero in Malawi. We had no idea Lynn too was rescuing highly endangered pangolin. According to Lynn’s March 2021 Newsletter COVID -19 created an increase in wildlife poaching and illegal cutting of trees for charcoal. However, despite the challenges Lynn and her team of dedicated Ranger Scouts have had many successes. One being the rescuing of highly endangered Pangolin. Where in the world is Malawi? This from Lynn’s March 2021 Newsletter 2020 saw a massive surge of arrests of poachers trafficking pangolins from Mozambique and Zambia into Malawi. The orphaned rhino are in new hands at the Rhino Revolution Orphanage “I’ll be leaving the orphanage,” Natalie wrote. For several years now we’ve been involved with Rhino Revolution and more recently their rescue rehab center for rhino calves orphaned by the poaching scourge. Goodbye Natalie! Why? How can you? We’re questions that popped into my mind. Did you know that orphaned rhino need 24 hour care? At least when they first arrive at the orphanage. Orphaned rhino are usually traumatized. They’ve just witnessed the brutal killing of their mother after all! These youngsters frequently cry for hours. Some run…
