Black eagles, African birds, birds of prey, Nikela, Margrit Harris, Russ Harris, protect wildlife. A year ago today we visited Libby and her Black Eagle project near Johannesburg South Africa. Nikela is dedicated to saving the wildlife of South Africa. This April Nikela is proud to bring you, Nikela Rhino Rescue, a month long fundraiser to benefit rhino conservation efforts in South Africa. With the black rhino listed as Critically Endangered and the white rhino classified as Near Threatened there is no time to waste.

A couple of months back Russ and I visited the Dallas zoo.  I was impressed by the new Savannah section.  The buildings and enclosures definitely have an African feel.
