With negative trends in wildlife conservation and education in Africa our goal is a lofty one. Raise the next generation’s awareness of wildlife’s role in their future and motivate many toward science and conservation careers through out South Africa.
Sorry we just had to share!! Head Master Mr. J.T. Shabalala of the Mehlokazulu HS in Kwazulu Natal South Africa and his school district are eager to see what the project can do for wildlife as well as for their student’s motivation and future. Also, initial funding options are emerging.
Celebrate Wildlife – Targets by 2014: The following activity levels and results are what we want to accomplish by 2014. The project will be presented by 10 teams in important areas within the provinces of Limpopo, KZN, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape.
- 300,000 students per year to be inspired by an on campus experience to drive home the significance of wildlife and give hope to their futures and the health of their country.
- Some 2000 student representatives will attend a 4 day bush camp and return to lead and re-inspire the 300,000 with resources provided and monitored monthly by Nikela.
- Separate funding will also offer scholarships to qualified student leaders for conservation and science education careers.
Next stage is initial funding and to firm up our contacts with NGO’s, EZEMVELO, and any others willing to help.
Thanks for your support!!
