The Process
HOW IT WORKS…
NIKELA:
- Finds, qualifies, and monitors conservation and education experts and certifies the projects that protect wildlife and give children hope by opening up the world of conservation and other wildlife careers.
- Links people who care with those experts in need.
- Provides a safe vehicle to donate and keep up with favorite projects.
- Invites your feedback and involvement as our community grows to fulfill the vision.
If Our Certification Process is important to you…
The 5 Star qualifying system focuses on the experts financial sustainability, ability to deliver as projected, and the capacity to achieve Nikela’s education and protection objectives.
A new RECEIVER organization is rated on the validated information provided and is given up to a 4 Star rating until after the first completed project with us. The lowest 3 Stars ratings are accepted only if the organization has high potential but may not be as stable. A rating of 3 for more than 6 months or immediate changes dropping below 3 Stars risks being dropped from our project lists.
YOU:
- Choose the expert and the project that grabs you. (Of course you can choose more than one.)
- Decide how many times you’ll take a PB&J for lunch a month and donate the difference. (Naturally you can give whatever amount you like.)
- Follow the impact your gift has via the frequently posted photos, videos and stories on the blog.
- Give us feed back on your experience as we grow and develop the site into a real global community of people who care.
If you want to know more…
The Nikela community is a safe and effective place for you to participate because:
* 100% of your project donation goes to that project. * The Nikela operation fund is supported separately. * Our RECEIVER Pool only includes qualified experts and certified and monitored projects. * Your gift is processed via a secure online system provided by DonationPay and safely delivered to the Receiver.EXPERTS:
- Each of our expert conservationists and educators are personally qualified. Every effort is made to visit each conservation site to get a feel for the passion, skills and knowledge of the expert(s) involved.
- A rather strict application process including nonprofit status, financials, successes, strategic plans and so forth is required.
- Once an expert and/or a conservation site is qualified, certain projects that meet Nikela’s mission are certified and included in our RECEIVER Pool.
